Shmuel Rosengarten
Director of Ten Kavod

Shmuel Rosengarten is the Director of the Ten Kavod elderly outreach program for United Hatzalah. He has been in charge of the project since 2014. Under Shmuel’s auspices, the program underwent a major overhaul and expansion from three volunteers located in Jerusalem to more than 450 volunteers countrywide. The Ten Kavod program provides services to more than 500 elderly participants who receive medical care and social companionship from United Hatzalah volunteers.

The program operates in 33 major cities as well as numerous small communities all over Israel. Volunteers and elderly participants come from Jewish, Arab, Druze, and Christian backgrounds. The project is continuing to expand and will start in 6 new cities in the coming months.

Shmuel is married with seven children, and is the Chapter Head of United Hatzalah EMS teams in Modi’in Illit. After receiving Rabbinic ordination at the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem, he worked with various non-profit organizations spearheading their social entrepreneurship, education, welfare and employment programs before taking on the mantle of Ten Kavod. In addition to his Rabbinic studies, Shmuel holds a BA in Education.
